Find what you're good at

So far, Mackenzie is a great sleeper. She sleeps most of time, and she usually does pretty good at night. On many occasions we have found her sleeping INSIDE her swaddle, which seems to be a favorite of hers, I guess she is still trying to simulate the womb - or give me heart failure! She seems to have a pretty sweet disposition I guess it's from all of the sweet dreams. Most of this we can attribute to our resident sorcerer and big sister, who casts a steady stream of magic spells on the baby to keep her in check!

Merry Christmas

We hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas! We were blessed to share our holidays with our newest member - not that she had any idea what was going on, but it was nice to have our little family all together!

As most kids do, at least according to thier parents, Marley got an obscene amount of gifts between Santa and her grandparents, so much so that we packed up the majority of her previous toys just to make room! One of her favorite gifts was this tea set from Santa and she was kind enough to share some tea with Mackenzie.

Mackenzie pretty much slept though the whole day, at least she tried. She did get a whole lot of lovin' though and plenty of new toys to try out when she gets a bit bigger - which Marley is anxiously awaiting!

Introducing Mackenzie Kate!

Christmas came a little early for us this year!

7 lbs 13 oz

Here we are in the delivery room meeting our little one for the first time!

Mackenzie in the nursery getting checked out by the nurses as well as Big Sis Marley and Nonnie.
Marley has taken very well to becoming a big sister, she is very gentle with Mackenzie and loves to give her kisses.
After we got home and everything settled down, Marley finally decided that she would like to hold Mackenzie so she could get a better look at her new baby sister!
Mackenzie is doing great, at her one week checkup she already weighed 8 lbs 2 oz, and getting bigger everyday!

Visitors!

In early November we were very excited to have my Grandma and Aunt Anita visit us from Missouri. This was the first time that Marley got to meet her great grandma (NaNa) and great aunt. We had a great time visiting with them and thanks again Aunt Anita for making that long drive!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! This year Marley went as a witch! And Tre' put his creative self to work as he and his mom collaborated to make this fabulous cake - it was completely edible aside from the jack o lantern bag on the bottom left - and it was especially tasty!

Sometimes she was a good witch,

but mostly she was an scary witch!

Happy Birthday Papa!

Tre's birthday was Sunday and we spent the morning at the park. Marley had a blast catching the ball at the bottom of the slide. Then she had a riveting conversation with the birthday boy! That evening papa was lucky enough to spend his birthday at the Sesame Street show - which Marley loved!

First Haircut

Last Friday Marley got her first haircut! We'll call it that but it was really just taming the wildness of her hair and we didn't even cut off enough to have a lock of hair to put in her baby book! But it does look a little more tame than before, I highly recommend the use of a portable dvd player for any childs first haircut - it worked wonders!
