Accessorize!
Girls love their accessories, now Mackenzie has some new ones to show off! Also at her six month checkup we learned that she is definitely getting enough nutrition as she is currently weighing in at 18 lbs 4 oz. Mama's little roly poly!
Summer is here!
Actually it is not officially summer yet, not for two more days anyway. But if you are lucky enough to live in the Dirty South like us then you too have been experiencing the unspeakable pleasure of temperatures pushing 90 with 8000% humidity for at least a month now. I can't prove it but I'm pretty sure that the sun is closer to New Orleans this year. Probably because of Hurricane Katrina - why not, we blame everything else on "the storm." Oh well, I guess this is the price that we pay for exactly one month of winter and since I don't do cold weather well I'll take it! One of the greatest treats of summer is some sticky, icy cold watermelon. The only treat that is more yummy, more cold, and more sticky is a New Orleans snowball! Stay tuned!

My poor little Kenzie can not even think about eating baby food, just the word surely evokes a little gagging. She doesn't even like the apples or my personal fav baby food bananas. But if you give her whatever you are eating, be it pizza crust or watermelon she will wholeheartedly try to gobble it up, looks like we have another foodie baby on our hands. Problem is she has to try out all of the approved baby foods for four times straight to be sure that she is not allergic. I'm thinking of making my own baby food for her, maybe it will be a little more tasty. If anyone has any suggestions please share!

I feel sticky just looking at this picture, straight to the tub!

I just wanted to include this one as proof that I do exist in the lives of my little ones. Seems that as I am the usually the one behind the lens - I typically don't appear in most pictures with the girls. Just the other day I realized that there is not a picture of just me and my girls in existence! We will be taking family photos soon so we will have to fix that!
A good way to spend $3 and a Saturday afternoon
I love Target, ask anyone who knows me. One of the greatest sections in Target is the dollar section. You are sure to find an unbelievable deal every trip. This trip I found these groovy water guns so I picked up three (one for each family member with fine motor skills) and hoped for some great summer battles. That afternoon Marley told her Papa that he better bring his A-game - it was on.

Tre' used his stellar skills learned as the oldest of four who has spent many, many, many years tormenting his siblings. We didn't stand a chance.

Kenzie, thrilled to take part in any activity that the rest of us are doing, was forced to surrender at the hand of her big sister!

Soaked to the bone but never to surrender! To be a champion, you must train like a champion!

A great time was had by all - especially this jolly little elf!

I highly recommend giving your little one a good squirting every once in a while, you know, so they know who's really the boss!
Female Bonding
This week Marley got to spend some time with her friends Maddie and Abbie. We all enjoyed a day at the zoo with Nanny and Kenzie too.

The matching outfits were completely unplanned but very cute! Marley loves hanging out with these lovely ladies!

Here we see Marley striking a pose with that effalant, we try to take a picture with it everytime we go to the zoo. As you can see in previous posts, it is shrinking. (Denial - it's not just a river in Egypt)

Maddie and Abbie are awesome with Kenzie and always take the time to give her some attention. They love to pinch her little chubby cheeks - so do I. It is something that you must do when you see a baby that is this round!

Muah! Does it get better than a hot, sweaty, sticky kid? Nope - this is what the summers of childhood are all about!

After enduring a sweltering day chasing a tiny wild woman through crowds of day camp field trips all while trying to nurse a slippery and hungry baby and not expose yourself to said day camps this - is just what you want to see when you pull into the driveway. Perfect.
Bath Time
Tonight I was about to give Mack her bath when Marley announced that she would like to take a bath with her. I was going to wait till Mack was a little older to suggest this but I was willing to give it a try. Mackenzie was thrilled when I set her in the tub and she caught a glimpse of the object of her affection. Marley was on her best behavior and did not even try to drown her baby sister. She even made her some coco tea (also known as bath water in a teacup). I can't tell you how much I am liking the convenience factor here!

Damn paparazzi - we can't even take a bath in peace!

FUNNY FACE!!! Mack hasn't quite developed the fine motor skills to make awesome funny faces like Mars but she is trying really hard!

Hamming it up in the tub!

After her bath Mars enjoyed the pink cookie with sprinkles that she picked out at the grocery earlier today and I was getting some pretty shots when in dropped...

a little visitor! Why hello superbaby!
Marleyisms
Some big kids wear pull-ups when they go to sleep so that they won't wet the bed. Marley wears poool-ups.
